Roccella Jonica
Roccella Jonica on the Gelsomini coast was probably founded on the greek town of Amfissa.
Roccella Jonica has a suggestive medieval centre, rich of aristocratic centres, dominated by the imposing castle of the Princes Carafa.
Important landmarks are: the castle of the Carafa, the Duomo, the church of San Nicola Ex Aleph, the church of Santa Anastasia, the sanctuary of the Madonna of the Graces, the church of Saint Josepj, the church of San Sostene, the theatre, the Melissari columns and the convent of the monks of Saint Francis.
Countless are the traditions and the events like the celebration of the patron San Vittorio Martire, the celebration for the Addolorata (Madonna of the grieves) and the Roccella Jazz Festival.
